Billy Kristol, Dick Cheney, and all the neocons will all agree with you Mary, virtually everyone agrees with me. US law and custom agree with me. That's why we have a distinction between killing and murder in both ethics and law. It's a crime to murder, as it should be, but some killing is justified, most particularly self defense. can not be dismissed that casually. Centuries of US and common law can not be dismissed that casually. US law and custom have taken Augustine and Aquinas and Jesus and incorporated them already. There's no need to reinvent that wheel. That's a macro view that's well vetted. <g>
