There is only one option. Make every effort for peace. That begins by calling for a cease fire, even if the call must be made every day, every hour.

You need leadership. You need folks that can mobilize and negotiate with all parties. This would include Israel, Syria, Iran, Hezbullah and Hamas and the Palestinians, Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon. The US needs to lead here.

At the same time a military defensive posture needs to be strengthened. Anyone shelling is fair game for retaliation in kind. Bombing all of Lebanon was not needed and that went beyond a measured response. Bombing the road from Beruit to Damascus on the premise that Syria would be supplying Hezbullah is a rouse. That highway could have been shut down with one phone call by Bush. Bombing airports and civilian centers, killing many innocents was not needed and will not forge peace.

Peace between Egypt and Israel would never had happened with out the leadership of the US. Sadat was assassinated by extremists, not by the vision of peace.

To solve the problem takes massive efforts on the part of all parties, and the US needs to lead. Otherwise Israel will do what they always do...retaliate times 10 or 100. This will not bring peace.

Peace will come when everyone listens to one another. Can happen no other way. Every man killed has family, and that family will want revenge. The killing will never end at that rate till every man woman and child on the earth is killed.

Yes...defend your country. Yes clear rocket positions. But don't do this with out every effort for negotiation and peace talks. Always we mut all try every day every hour for peace. It's much more work than firing rockets.
