The side with more firepower is likely to cause more destruction. It indicates nothing as to blame for the start of the conflict and little to nothing as far as the morality of their actions during the conflict.

This is simplistic and ignores the real objectives of the Israeli fighting force.

Truth be known:

Many of the spies that Israel had relied on to pinpoint Hezbollah targets were captured and so, with no reliable intelligence available, Israel resorted to indiscriminate destruction and gamble in an attempt to make some hits, particularly on long range missiles. So far the destruction of numerous big and tall buildings in Beirut have shown no evidence of them having been used as silos for missiles. Furthermore, Israel, by deliberate destruction of Lebanese infrastructure and Lebanese lives hope to make the Lebanese condemn and turn against Hezbollah. If I am not mistaken, Israel is not succeeding in this regard. In short, the disproportionate destruction wreaked by Israel was not an unavoidable consequence of their greater firepower but due to their
deliberate application of it.

In turn, Hezbollah, by attacking Israel from the midst of civilians, hopes to invite world
reaction against Israel for raining destruction and mayhem on civilians and to cause the Lebanese to condemn and resist the Israeli fighting force.
