Subtle ? I don't always connect the dots too well.. Probably disjointed :o)

point was all these religions incorporate foreign customs to make them more palatable or to suit someone's need... and I'm just nattering on about the fact that Islam like Christianity is a good tool for violence, political/economical gain and/or oppression in the name of God of course... The religion isn't inherently bad...

You know... like guns don't kill people... people do...

FWIW... Maybe this background will make me less confusing... or not... I send my kids to Sunday school. We go to Church... but not every Sunday. My daughter starts high school this year so has been confirmed and is done (to her great delight with Sunday School)

We sent our kids to residential camp this summer..
My 7 year old son went last week. He wanted to try it. My 13 year old daughter is there this week, we pick her up tomorrow..

My daughter (her original idea) wanted something with horseback riding... After we registered them we received a form telling us what they were required to bring and what they were not allowed to bring. One of the items to bring was a Bible (optional)... well that cracked me up... I hadn't realised that it was a Christian camp.. My daughter moaned LOL...

Anyway I questioned my little guy when we picked him up at the end of his stay.
So do you remember the names of any of the boys in your group... No.
So what about girls at the camp ? No I don't remember..
So did you have bible stories ? Yes. It was just like Sunday School and I already knew one of the stories.
Do you remember any of the stories ? Definitely not he says...

His team did win the rodeo though and he wants to go back next year.

I cannot wait to hear my 13 year old's impression...

We weren't looking for a Christian/Bible camp... just horses ... My kids go to public school and I firmly believe in the separation of Church and state...
