US Troops are being rushed to Baghdad, which is not at all secure. This proves that even 135,000 troops and the finest military in the world cannot secure even a modest part of one medium sized country. So what the hell are rightwingers doing talking about invading Iran which is three times bigger and much better armed?

I think Bush's stubbornness to change course has accelerated the demise of his Iraq policy. I think we are on the verge of losing that country to all-out civil war. Then what do we do? Just get out of the way or engage? I wouldn't be surprised if we have to cut Iraq into three countries. Just a total mess.
