Your definition of a "progressive" is totally at variance with mine.

As with iraq I have no love for Moslem fundamentalists to put it mildly-- but I see them as the victims of US-Zionist aggression.

Hezbollah was formed in response to the brutal israeli occupation of Lebanon during the 1980s. Then as now the Israelis destroyed infrastructure and slaughtered large numbers of civilians. They also were instrumental in the Phalangist massacre of many hundreds of Palestinians in two refugee camps.

The inability of some American "progressives" to see Israel for what it is -- a brutal racist, militarist settler state whose partisans have grabbed control of US Mideast policy -- sets them at odds with most progressives elsewhere in the world IMHO.
