Yes...I know what you mean... Richard, Yes, that is the one "tricky part" about dining with people from all different backgrounds and and political persuasions... Everyone has their own take on national or world politics... I guess that is why the conversation often tends to steer in the direction of fun stuff, travel, etc... and not so much into the territory of politics, religion or other "hot topics"..... And then, as you mentioned... there is always the good food.... so... when you feel a strong opinion on the tip of your tongue...... well... you just put a nice piece of roast beef or pie in the way to stop its progress..
