So I'm a bleeding heart for caring if South Lebanon is destroyed -- something that even if you ignore the suffering there is going to end up costing Canada dearly because someone is going to have to look after the displaced people who've had their homes and lives destroyed.

When Israel started a calculated destruction of Lebanon's infrastructure and killing hundreds of civilians, as part of a plan apparently hatched years ago, and Hezbollah started firing its crappy rockets back and letting them fall wherever they do because they are inaccurate and mostly useless, I should have jumped on Harper to denounce Hezbollah? Didn't he already do that? Didn't the whole world do it (in addition to Israel's excessive force)? And it is clearly obvious that any Israeli casualties, small as they are compared to the Lebanese, have afforded massive sympathy already -- as if no one were protecting them or sympathizing already and I have a moral responsibility to talk for them first, or as is the case for most of you, give them my only sympathy? But no one on this board other than Sawdusty has the backbone to say that Lebanese are humans too and they don't deserve this?
