I think Leiberman might as well be a Repugnican. He may win as an independent, with Repugnican votes. He's not a Democrat. He's the Senator from Israel, their Dem point man in the Senate. The Senate representative of AIPAC, if you will.

I can't imagine why the local voters want him. I felt his selection by Gore was a huge mistake, and he may have COST Gore the votes that would have won him the election in 2000. "Joementum" was a drag on the ticket.

If he wins as an independent by co opting Repugnican votes, but couldn't win as a Dem - he shouldn't be a Dem. I have no problem with it, it's democracy in action.
