You are right about science as opposed to religion.

However, it's amazing how much a wrong theory can be held on to, if a scientist decides to dig his hills in on a specific dogma (theory).

Results of an experiment always need interpretation. Throw in some statistics and hold onto the idea you wanted to prove anyway, and you can be barking up the wrong tree for along time.
