Actually Arafat is a moderate compared to the Hamas leadership in power now. Ditto in Iran. Since Bush blundered into the Middle East, these countries have become much more dangerous and anti-American. It would not have happened with Gore or Kerry as president, so we'd be safer and oil prices would be a lot lower as well.
