OPR reviews ethical complaints, not matters of national security.

It well may be that nobody has ever told a member of OPR that they couldn't have access to classified information before, I have no idea. But getting your panties into a bunch because someone says "no" to a request for access to highly classified secrets when you don't have a security clearance is Amateur Night.

I assume, therefore, that the panty-wadding reaction is just posturing, a step in the game of Washington Hardball As It Is Played.

Question I would ask myself is, "why would anybody want to give ethics lawyers access to very highly classified information"? They're not about the information, they're about the process.

I know what you want, at least I think I do. You want to depose Bush before his time, January 2009, or at least see him mired in so much aggravation that he can't accomplish much in that time.

Well and good. If that's what being in "the center" is all about, I'll probably wander somewhere else soon. Would gladly wander off SI entirely if a certain someone would ever finish my website.
