I wouldn't think that by investing in gold, you're going to teach the government a lesson. There was a lot of inflation between 1981 and 2002 and gold got creamed.

We have a fiat monetary system. Go with it. Fighting it is probably at your own peril.

I suggest you read The Great Disorder on Germany's hyperinflation. They printed paper currency as fast as they could 24 hours per day. That's how hyperinflaiton gets going.

In our system, money gets created by someone else taking on debt. Debt is the sale of someone's future. Americans have sold short their futures like never before.

That means a deflationary credit contraction is well on the way. Can the Fed theoretically create money and drop it from helicopters? Yes. Are they doing that now? No.

I invest on what is, not what I wish there would be.
