Excellent observation. Egypt has it's land back, and I'm pretty sure, has learned not to attack Israel. Jordan does not want the West Bank, they are happy to see Pals live there. Most likely, they'ed like to ship some of there own Pals there as well.
But on the northern border Israel still has a bunch of territory, including disputed land with Lebanon. That is a rallying cry for Hezbullah.
Whatever the final outcome of the recent confrontation in S. Lebanon, it's pretty clear that some entity, either the Lebanese army, UN peacekeepers, or the Israelis, are going to face the task of disarming Hizbullah and restoring the rule of law, and the sovereignty of S. Lebanon to the Lebanonese people.
Please Hawk, tell me why it is going to work this time when Israel failed last time in Lebanon, continues to fail in Gaza, and the USA fails in Afghanpoppyland and Iraq? What will magically work that we are not doing elsewhere? |
