Dems are not ousting Lieberman, he's just up against a tough fight to get the Dem nomination and Lieberman refuses to go quietly if he loses. He will switch to independent. But if he wins he'd still vote with democrats on most issues. It's up to Lamont to beat Lieberman both times. Or else Lieberman will remain a de facto democrat.
