If Hezbollah blew up the Marines barracks in Beirut, then why did Reagan "cut and run" from Lebanon after thjat? Was Reagan a coward and traitor who sided with the terrorists? Or in some cases is redeployment and even retreat the smartest reaction to finding yourself stuck in a dangerous quagmire?

I bring up this to expose the hypocrisy of those backing Bush-Cheney's doomed Iraq policy. Clearly, we are only asking for more of the same by staying the course in Iraq. Why would anything change for the better if we just repeat what we've been doing over there?

Only yesterday, 260 were killed and wounded in Iraq. That may be the worst day since the invasion. Yet no talk whatsoever from Bushies about redeploying, even though they know they should and need to. No, it is much more important for them to pretend Bush is a "strong leader" instead of just self-destructively stubborn and unable to come up with new ideas. Even if more and more US troops are killed and we are gradually weakened as a nation.
