Do you know which bunch of land you are talking about? In 2000 Barak withdrew from Lebanon. Even brought the UN in to certify that Israel was out of Lebanon, beyond the international border.

So what was Hizbullah to do? Their raison d'etre had just gone away!

They found a small patch of Syria, called the Shebaa Farms, and decided to claim it for Lebanon. That way they could still fight "occupation."

It really takes a tremendous ignorance or gullibility to think that further Israeli withdrawals could have prevented this.
