BDS is used far too frequently about quite normal people (at least on SI) for it to be applicable to these people.

I notice that on SI anyone who disagrees with Bush policy often gets labeled as having BDS- that makes the term unsuitable when you want to use it for real nuts. I'm afraid hyperbole has soiled the term.

It's far too often just an excuse for name calling anyway. I even feel a little sorry calling these people on the far extremes nuts- but I really can't think of a better word for them. It doesn't have anything to do with Bush- there are just nutty people on both sides of the political spectrum at the ends of the distribution curve, and no matter who was in power, they would still be nutty. IMO, of course.
