Which made your statement, umm, at variance with the facts. Your statement about the calls is wrong in all the particulars. It is not restricted to terror suspects. Or at least they aren't suspects in the normal sense of the word. Under the rules used, anyone with the slightest connection, no matter how indirect, come under the heading. So, by the rules used, every conversation can potentially be mined. In addition, it isn't restricted to international calls. That was the first story. It has since been proven to be false. All calls are subject to be monitored. "You can't conduct international intelligence gathering according to the restrictions placed on criminal intelligence gathering in the US." Nonsense. You'd have to come up with some proof of that one. What restrictions are so onerous that the laws have to be broken? It is people like you who Ben Franklin had in mind when he made his statement about freedoms and security. He knew that such individuals, ignorant of how Democracy actually operates, are its greatest danger.
