I think this was for the Sigma Mine alone. Century now owns both the Sigma and Lamaque mines which are adjacent to each other. I believe in those days (or not too long after) Sigma was under Placer Dome and Lamaque under Teck.

One major difference between then and now is that during the Royal Oak acquisition spree gold was in a bear market rally/bear market, but now Century Mining's emergence is coinciding with a bull market with still many years left to go. Of course if you don't agree with my belief that gold is in a bull market, then high cost mines such as Sigma-Lamaque should be avoided like the plague.
