Thanks, John. The thread is the product of the people who choose to post here. Both people to my right and to my left have informed me via PM they won't post any longer because their faction isn't catered to sufficiently, but I made it pretty clear in the thread header where their needs and concerns rank.

As for other threads the domestic stuff is 99.9% left-right bashing with predictable results. Little or nothing to learn there apart from an occasional interesting article I trip across. The foreign policy stuff (I am being generous calling it that) is not written by "professionals", or by anyone with any regional or functional experience in these areas most of the time. Just ill-informed venting from armchair QBs with no clue about the whole process.

I don't claim this thread is the font of all wisdom by any means. But the quality of debate is much better here, IMHO, and I will keep "civility first" as the fundamental criteria for posting. When I look at posts on other threads by people banned here, I have no desire to invite them back. The common tone is "I/We are right, you are wrong, now *%&$ off you idiot/traitor/wimp/etc." Real playground BS.

Let's see what the next 25K posts brings. It may not be the center I had in mind, but it is sure to be entertaining.
