Isn't Eli Manning the Chargers' QB? Yes, for about a minute. Before the draft the Manning clan: Archie, Peyton and Eli indicated to the Chargers : Please don't draft Eli with your first pick because Eli won't sign. On the draft day the Chargers named Eli anyway with the overall first pick. Eli reluctantly posed with Chargers T shirt. However shortly thereafter it was announced that Eli was traded to the Giants who named QB Phillip Rivers on the third picked and sent to the Chargers. Thus it was QB swap. Ben Roethlesberger looked dejected waiting to be called, and he was down to the 11th(?) picked when the Steelers grabbed him. Turns out Ben is the lucky one. So are the Steelers.
