Israel and we HAVE a clearly defined objective - the destruction of Hezbollah in Lebanon. The problem is, this is an impossible objective, as they breed 10 Hezbollah for every one they kill, with the misery and destruction that is "collateral damage". All those corpses and injured are related to people, friends with others, and all Lebanese. It's a basic flaw in the "war on terror", of using the military to fight a tactic. We should be attacking the IDEAS behind the support for the terrorists. Instead, our responses actually recruit and rally support for the terrorists. We have at our disposal the very best advertising and PR people on the planet here in the US, but Bush appoints Karen Hughes, a crony with no experience, to be in charge of our public diplomacy. At a time when we REALLY NEED the "best and the brightest", we seem to be saddled with the "worst and the dimmest"!
