Funny how it is always the Americans fault. Iran was far richer under the Shah than it is today, and it was a far freer country.

Oh, really?

Have you heard of the much dreaded secret police of the Shah called SAVAK? Have you heard of Dr. Mossadeq who was demonized by the US and Britain for asking them to be a tad more generous with their oil profits so that the Iranian people could have a better life?

For an unbiased view of Iran during the Shah's time,
read pp 64 -72 of William Blum's book,

KILLING HOPE (ISBN: 1-56751-252-76).

You can get more info and reviews of this book and its author at amazon.com.

You don't have to read the whole book. Just 8 pages of info from page 64 to page 72. And, maybe your public library has a copy of it so you don't have to buy the book.

William Blum, a former high ranking CIA officer tells the story like it was. In his book you will see the good and the bad things the CIA did around the world.

From 1946 to the end of the Cold War (ca. 1990), US foreign policy was largely dictated by two things:- 1. Fight Communism; 2. Help Israel to be the US surrogate in the Middle East.

Ever since 9/11, it was dictated by its fight against Terror and endeavouring to defeat Islam and conquer the Middle East.
