It's an idea whose time has come. And it sells newspapers.

I often find myself wondering, from time to time, about those polar bears whose ice floes are melting, not to mention whales being driven mad by sonar, and poor little harp seals being clubbed to death.

The racehorse, whatever his/her name is, doesn't strike the same chord as those polar bears. Not fluffy enough or something.

NYTimes knows how to get you where it hurts. Fluffy little heads. Cute little noses. Awwwww.
