I insult you, because at times you act like a pinheaded Bush hating libber, don't you?

NOOOOO....ah, come on Pro. To you anyone who disagrees with the great President Bush is automatically a "pinheaded Bush hating libber"...(not sure quite what that is, but I am not it).

Issues are complicated. Most issues today are VERY complicated. I refuse to accept answers like "the president knows best so let's support everything the administration does" (but not putting you in that catagory - you have expressed disagreement with Mr. Bush on immigration and other topics). This administration has made IMHO massive mistakes in foreign policy design and implementation. Disagreeing with Mr. Bush does not make one a "libber". Mr. Bush is NOT a conservative on fiscal matters, nor does he follow traditional conservative views on privacy rights, small government, nation-building, and more. Lots of conservatives have problems with Mr. Bush's policies. I consider myself middle of the road. I have voted for dems and repubs and will again, I am sure.

Frankly I think the silliest posts by anyone are those who say "demohacks do this" or "the chimp did that". Issues are more complicated than names or slogans. If someone posts a link to an article that criticizes the President's handling of an issue the invective comes out: "Bush hater". "Libber". "Demohack".

I am far more interested if people live up to what they say they will do whether I agree with them or not. Has the President's policies made the world safer? Has he returned integrity to the oval office? Is he a fiscal conservative? Possibly, just possibly, did this Administration lead us into a quagmire in Iraq that could be a true disaster? Has this Administrations' abject refusal to talk to North Korea increased the risk to the U.S. over giving them a one on one dialogue and then making clear the impact of their present actions? Is this Administration's failure to make its threats credible hurt their subsequent ability to negotiate on the same issues? Is GWB intellectually curious about the cultures, history and societal rules governing the peoples he is trying to push to democracy?

To me these are all legitimate questions that need to be asked and reasked. On some the President looks o.k. On others he comes across very, very poorly. To criticize him is not be an enemy of the State. That is just too simpllstic in the world I live in.

As to your question about the fertility clinics...yes, I am trying to figure out if lines can be drawn somewhere. Maybe existing frozen embryos released for study with a tacit understanding that it would not happen in the future. That could be a win-win situation. Why doesn't anybody want to discuss how to compromise so everybody might get something?
