So your saying “valuing” Qualcomm based upon metrics that address its long term growth characteristics is “entirely useless”?

No, I am saying that you dont know how to define Qualcomm's long-term growth prospects. I think talking about the six billion people on the planet as potential customers works as well as your two billion GSM customers.

Qualcomm's sales are a subset of the total wireless market. Those two billion GSM customers upgrading to WCDMA are counted within the ongoing total wireless market (which also includes churn and upgrades)....it works substantially better as a way to get a handle on how much growth Qualcomm has left, but of course you are welcome to use whatever metrics you like.
