Why should conservatives listen to liberal voices and liberals listen to conservative voices?

Really, do you think one side has ALL the answers? Even if I am a conservative today, for example, do I listen to Buckley, Buchanan, Gingrich, or the Neocons?

If you automatically dismiss other points of view just because they don't agree with yours you will be in for a surprise someday, as Mr. Bush's poll numbers are not an illusion as some seem to think. Whether you agree or not, there is a lot of dissatisfaction with his leadership right now, from "libs" and "cons". Plenty of posts have been made to show it.

As for the Middle East right now...I didn't hear Rich but many conservatives have been critical of the Administration's "hands off" attitude toward the Israel/Palestian/Lebanon corridor. Traditionally the U.S. has had a special envoy assigned to the region and could serve as a "fair broker" on issues. Many conservatives feel the Administration ignored the region until forced to take a hand, and then Condi's trip was done reluctantly and without much of a game plan. But she is the best we have now because we did not have a special envoy in place and ready to address all sides. These are not my views necessarily. I think Condi is in a lose/lose situation, but there are respected conservative voices (as well as liberal) who feel the U.S. was not engaged as it should have been in the runup.

Now, will you listen to those voices, or just the Adminstration's?
