TJ, in fact, you are grateful for globe-spinning GPRS which is based in part on intellectual property belonging to QCOM and illicit use for which Nokia is now being sued. Yes, it is TDMA [GSM is TDMA] as radio link but power control, or some other technologies which enable the higher data rates of GPRS, are QCOM property.

So, there are some fun legal cases and negotiations underway. Meanwhile, I am pleased that you are using my technology, even if you haven't paid.

You want fast? You need W-CDMA or HSDPA to be ubiquitous. That will help speed things up, in the way of gold collapse and everything else. And enable quicker trades, and pulling of triggers when fractions of seconds make a big difference, even of life and death proportions.
