Bushies could drop gasoline prices 50 cents in one day. If they simply enforced the laws against monopolies and price-fixing. Congress grilled the Oil CEO's 3-4 months ago and gas prices plunged the day after. There's your solid proof. Then as soon as it was clear Denny Hastart wasn't going to do anything to them (all talk no action) the prices climbed right back up to where they were. This at a time when supposedly post-Katrina "shortages" had driven the prices higher. Just like right after Jeffords switched parties, nergy pricesn dropped not because of any shortage, but because it looked like government was going to do its job against the outrageous gougers of the Big Oil and Big Power monopolies.
