Also, it wasn't as if Saddam were some innocent guy. He did ask for it. And if Bush had handled things right, it might have ended up as a net positive for the world. If you are saying that it was OK to invade Iraq regardless of whether it had WMDs or not (because, after all, Saddam was "not some innocent guy"), how would you get the American people to agree to a costly invasion (in terms of lives and treasure) without you having to lie about the reasons for removing Saddam?

Because if the "Saddam is a bad guy" excuse alone would have worked, don't you think the neocon artists would have used that instead?! So if you folks had invaded Iraq, you had to be equally dishonest about the reasons for doing so. As to whether you would be incompetent or not.... the way Kerry handled the situation when he was attacked by the SmearVets(TM) gives me a pretty good idea!
