(NASDAQ: FALC), the leading developer of proven data protection solutions, today announced an OEM agreement with Dynamic Solutions International (DSI), a leading international provider of data storage solutions and comprehensive professional services for mid- to large-size enterprises. DSI OEMs FalconStor's VirtualTape product line software to bring to market virtual tape applications for enhanced data backup and recovery. Based on FalconStor's VTL software, DSI's newest virtual tape library (VTL) offering, the DSI 9000 series of Virtual Tape Appliances, greatly reduces backup time, administrative overhead, and costs.
FalconStor's VTL software solution ensures error-free backups while allowing administrators to conveniently deploy backup acceleration and data encryption services in the backup environment without changing the existing configuration of their physical tape library or third party backup software. FalconStor VTL utilizes disk to enhance the reliability of daily backups and dramatically increases performance by supporting the provisioning of up to 512 additional virtual tape drives to the backup host to accommodate additional and/or concurrent backup/restore sessions. Moreover, for secure physical tape archiving, FalconStor VTL can encrypt physical tape cartridges in the background without impacting backup speed.
The DSI 9000 series provides off-host encryption and replication, enables users to easily tighten security and comply with government regulations. It includes flexible host connectivity, seamless integration with existing backup processes, and scalable capacity for backups and archiving.
