With the Treasury account, all transactions can be done right here at the computer, including buying and selling. They draft directly from your bank and deposit back there at maturity (or whenever you decide to sell). Simplicity itself.

The tax implications are identical to elsewhere. Treasuries are exempt from state and local taxes. You only pay at the Fed level. This actually adds a tiny bit more to their actual yield. No commissions going in or coming out. That's big.
