Of your examples,cigarettes are the only one with a cause and effect comparable to AIDS. And yes, there is every reason to think that prohibition is in our future, as in some towns in your own state. In the meantime, smokers will be castigated for their behavior beginning with Surgeon General of the U.S. and working on down. Smokers are pariahs in our society already.

I'm so glad you brought this up. The very different attitude toward gay men as opposed to smokers is a perfect illustration of political correctness at work in our society.
