i think alcohol kills an enormous number of people, via drunk driving, alcohol induced violence, and diseases caused by alcoholism. I'd think it kills more than AIDS- but I'll run the numbers.

You have, unfortunately, overlooked a rather large logical problem in your "theory". Gay people are born gay- more and more research supports this. They can either never have a relationship, act out with a straight person (and probably be desperately unhappy and make someone else desperately unhappy), or have a gay partner. When you revile them, you revile someone for the way they were born. Smoking is not something we are born doing. It's a drug choice- and I've no problem with people making a drug choice, and I don't think they should be reviled for their habit, should they pursue it where they don't bother anyone, but it's not the same. (BTW, I'm also against ANYONE having sex in public areas, I don't care what kind of sex it is. I would fine that as annoying as public smoking.)
