I agree that Bush's policies, and in particular his foreign policy, hurt this country a lot more than unjust racial preferences. But the hurt is long term and cannot be easily quantified, whereas racial preferences affect people directly now. Also, a lot of prominent Democrats more or less support Bush's foreign policies. I think we desperately need a third party.
