Peter...I don't think I answered that post at all. When I read it I was wondering how to answer it and I was thinking..Geeez, I don't really like Kerry and I've said he was a jerk, but somehow I have to explain that his lessor military aptitude would be preferrable to Bush's. I guess the answer would be that Iraq, if it is lost, has NOT been lost because of military missteps, but because of a lack of geo-political understanding and curiousity about same. I think I read someplace that Bush had so little interest in the people of Iraq that he didn't even know the difference between Sunnis and Shiites.
