"Are you calling Woodcrest / Conroe / Merom / Cloverton nothing?"

No, not at all. CMW are something, highly wonderfulr according to all the hypsters.

I'm just not convinced that production problems are even nearly overcome.

Most importantly, if INTC lost share again in Q2 when INTC did everything in its power to stop AMD, as the Revshare comparative benchmark indicates, then INTC, even with a fast CMW ramp (which all indicators would seem to contradict) won't stop AMD achieveing its 33-1/3% marketshare by the end of 2008.

(By the time CMW becomes a force in the marketplace, they are quite likely to be leap frogged in performance attributes by AMD's 65nm and K8L offerings. Hence the 33-1/3% share by the end of 2008)

Recent stats indicate AMD is now achieved 33-1/3% servershare. Next target is notebooks. The continuing server and notebook share gains may just be more than enough to offest any margin pressure in the desktop space ;-)
