I was surprised to learn that a poll in Israel gave the war effort a 95% approval rating. This was in the early days of the war, and has undoubtedly slipped since then.

But listening to a variety of US commentators, one gets the feeling that all the blame is stacked on the Hezbollah/Hamas side. And in regards to the UN observers killings, many believe that simply these things happen, are inevitable in war, and besides, it was their own fault for being in a war zone! In addition, why did those observers not stop Hezbollah in the first place? And secondly, the UN is useless, and ought to be dismantled and kicked out of New York. Its all their fault!

Those are some of the comments and impressions I have gathered.

George Bush's popularity due to Condo's diplomacy efforts are probably soaring.
