Agree. Maximization of shareholder value presupposes your understanding viz a viz >>I think management should focus on running their business >>as well as possible. Creating Shareholder Value by Rappaport explains this in an entire book which is also taught in graduate and post-graduate M&A B-School courses. Share price is the effect of a superior management, Board and employees. We only use the concept of stock price within the Rappaport shareholder value paradigm.
