I have to admit that Hezbollah is a much tougher nut to crack than I thought initially.

It is not that difficult to understand. UN1559 was passed in 2004. It has been ignored since. Never enforced. How long has Israel been out of Lebanon? 5-6 years? The Hezbollah (a four letter word for Iran) has been building their military skills and strength ever since. Syria been serving as a willing co-conspirator. The Lebanese government and people sat and watched. Either, because they supported Hezbollah or feared them.

The UN deserves much of the credit for where we are today. They remain an impotent entity skilled in two week conferences, lengthy and expensive luncheons and dinners.

My bottom line is that diplomacy will not work. It has been tried repeatedly and failed for the past forty years or so. Egypt and Jordan were the two exceptions. And that probably was because they had been defeated by Israel earlier. What brilliance and diplo-speak today will bring peace when the terrorist factions are even more committed to destroying or conquering the free world? It is necessary for all of us to understand and accept the notion that the terrorists don't recognize truth, honesty or integrity as necessary components of negotiations. Arafat proved that over and over and over and over.
