Anti-semitism is on the rise again, though I'm not certain it ever went away.

A couple of years ago, I made a u-turn at The Jewish Community Center and two cop cars stopped me as I drove away. They had received bomb threats. I sure know how to pick my spots. An Irish last name is also a sign of guilt. But it was easy for them to discover I had gotten lost on the way to a party in the neighborhood. And my shotgun riding partner was named Ruth. She doesn't have a Jewish sounding last name, having once married a gentile, and her birth last name doesn't sound Jewish either. I asked her to sew a Star of David on her blouse from now on. She said that was a bad precedent. <G>

These Seattle killings are tragic. But people will attack Jewish centers, burn churches and blow up mosques. It is kind of hard to believe we have those among us who are still that Medieval in the 21st Century.
