I don't believe that a UN, NATO, EU, or international peace keeping force can do very much to help solve the ME problems that Israel, Palestine, and Hizbullah are a part of.

Excuse me? What problem SHOULD Hizbullah have with Israel? Israel abided by UNSC 1559 and pulled out of all Lebanese territory. And with the departure of Syrian troops from Lebanon, there are no remaining outstanding RECOGNIZED issues (Shaba Farms are internationlly considered Syrian territory) except that Hizbullah continues to be armed and conducting hostile attack upon Israeli territory.

It's not Hizbullah's responsibility to fight on behalf of the Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails. It's not their problem and they certainly have no business involving the nation of Lebanon in this conflict between the Israelis and Hamas.

It's going to take an armed intervention force on the Lebanese border, with the mandate to use military force to maintain the peace in the border between Lebanon and Israel.

Then the next step will be to orchestrate a final peace solution between Israel and the Palestinians.

It's possible that there may need to be an intervening force involved to settle that problem as well, but I doubt that there is the international political will to do so at the moment.

But the first step has got be a UNSC binding mandate that Hizbullah must disarm and relegate it's status to that of a political party.
