You owe me and everyone on this board an apology.

For a misunderstanding?

The expression "sorting your socks" has been known to me for years. It means "if you've got absolutely nothing else to do." It referred to reading the dry, dusty, incredibly boring legal stuff contained in the ITC site to which I referred you. I meant that if you've got absolutely nothing else to do, like sorting your socks, you may wish to look at those deadly boring documents. I did and almost went to sleep.

In short, I have a great deal of trouble figuring out why you were offended. Certainly no offense was intended. Your response comes as a complete surprise.

As far as the value chain thing, I was simply commenting on the lack of precision in the term. It's a very nebulous thing to me, smacking of corporate gobbledygook, and that is all I wanted to convey in my post. Again, I don't see how you could have possibly deduced an insult.

Most important, I have absolutely no history with you and thus no conceivable reason to insult you.

By the way, I thought your post was excellent.
