"Betsy" is typical of the former Gibson defenders who have recoiled from his rant. On Mel Gibson If the stories of Mel Gibson's obscenity-laden and anti-Semitic tirade against the deputies who arrested him on his DUI are as has been reported, it is inexcusable. He has abjectly apologized, but I know that I'll never feel the same way about him again. It is one thing to get drunk and get arrested and become extremely angry. However, he betrayed such an arrogance about his control of Malibu and how he'd get the deputies fired that you just have to wonder if that is his real attitude towards and others. And by swinging immediately into an anti-Semitic rant he has betrayed something about what is deep within him that alcohol allowed to come out when he had his verbal guard down. He can go on a full-blown apology tour, but I think it is going to be very hard for people to get past this. At least for me, it is. betsyspage.blogspot.com
