My view is peace is impossible over there during out lifetimes at least, neither side is going to simply give up. What disturbs me most about the situation is the risk that Israel's enemies become the enemies of the U.S. I see that as already happening when people mention Hamas, Hizbollah and Al Qaeda in the same sentence. Israel's enemies are morphing into our own. I think it's probably inevitable that we will be drawn into it. If nothing else the area is question is "where Jesus lived" which by itself will lead U.S. fundamentalists to push us into the conflict.
