If you think that the Walmart, KMart, Sears, et al, high level executives care that you have to sit in traffic an extra 15 or 20 minutes getting around town cause of their "Big Box", I have a bridge to sell you. Or would you prefer some swamp land in Florida?? <:-)

I was very involved in planning and zoning as a Homeowner President in OC in the '60s and '70s. I found that the buildup of homes that made the area attractive to retailers was the cause of traffic, not the retail that came in. "Traffic" is just another "NIMBY," IMO.
