So, you don't equate DEMOCRACY with VOTING but instead with the FORCE OF THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT.
The citizenry of a democratic nation votes and ELECTS representatives to govern them, secure their safety, and provide a basis in law and and the interpretation of the constitution (via the SCOTUS nominees).
There would be little purpose in voting AND EMPOWERING such a representative governmental body if something in the constitution permitted people to raise their own private armies and conduct their own foreign policy.
The second amendment exists so that no government ever elected can feel empowered to use its means destroy the democratic system that brought them to power (ala Hitler).
The ultimate power to govern, or grant to others that they elect to represent them, according to the constitution, ALWAYS resides with the people.
Now you, as a member of the minority, can make the personal decision to physically resist the government that the rest of in the majority have elected, but unless you can show you were denied recourse for your grievances, either at the ballot box, or in a court of law, then you'll just be taking your chances, now won't you??
