Let's just say that you appear to be more IMPRESSED with the potential power of a Theocratic-leaning fundamentalist Islamic political & military 'enemy'... while I am less impressed with their current power *or* their potential power.

Dangerous? Yes.

(But I believe a lesser magnitude of danger then, say, the Autocratic enemies of WW II, or the 'Global' Communist threat of the Cold War years, to name just two dangers we have faced within the past generation. And perhaps less dangerous then dangers we may face within another generation....)

And... is al Qaeda 'counting' on over-reaction and miscalculation by the 'West' providing them gains that they otherwise would never be able to achieve by themselves? ABSOLUTELY they are.
