It's a poor comparison, given that WWII was the last constitutionally declared war in U.S. history (to date), and the last war that was morally justified. (OK, the first gulf war was somewhat defensible.)

If you only count the fire bombing of Dresden, where as many as 100,000 people died, and the two atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, with a combined death toll of roughly 100,000, that's a very large number of civilian casualties. And of course, that barely scratches the surface.

But what does that have to do with anything?
